New Feature: Faster User Management and Secure Permissioning

If there’s anything we’ve learned over the last decade, it’s that no two publishers are the same. Different sizes, different geographic reach, different internal structures and ways of working. We’re lucky to work with and learn from such a variety of different teams – because it means we can thoughtfully build publisher tools that match their diverse needs.

Meet our newest features: improved user-management tools for Chartbeat admins. While it doesn’t sound glamorous off the bat, we can hear the sound of admins all over the world cheering the changes. As one of our beta testers put it, the changes “brought focus to the people we’d invited but never used Chartbeat … helping us understand the kind of people in our organization who haven’t included it in their routines.”

What’s new in Chartbeat user management?

These new user management features give Chartbeat admins the power to organize, track, and manage all their team members who use Chartbeat in whichever way they need.

For example:

  • Does Wolfgang in Editorial need access to the Real-Time Dashboard and Headline Testing? In a couple quick clicks, he’s got what he needs.
  • Did Lula move teams from Social to Analytics — so the Historical Dashboard and Advanced Queries are now crucial to her new role? Search and find her settings instantly to update her permissions. Now she’s free to run reports to her heart’s content.
  • Do you need to check in on the team’s Chartbeat usage, to make sure you’ve set them up with the configuration they need? Simply see when folks last logged in for a snapshot of overall usage.

New user management features: The bottom line

With our shiny new user management features, Chartbeat admins will get:

Speed: Save yourself time, no matter the size of your organization. Small and nimble newsrooms can have teams up and running on Chartbeat as quickly as possible, while larger teams can optimize Chartbeat adoption at scale.

Security: Every team has moving pieces and moving people; it’s a no-brainer that you want to safeguard your data by quickly seeing and managing who has access to what.

Access management: For Chartbeat admins at publisher networks and amalgamated media companies, are you sure all users across all sites have access to the right data and tools? The new fine-grained permissions controls can help keep you on track, even if you’re running Chartbeat on multiple sites. Customize by user, by site, and by tool.
